Welcome to the web pages for the University of Portland's Academic Senate.
The role of faculty members appointed to the Academic Senate is to set policy in the following areas:

a.

faculty appointments, reappointments, decisions not to reappoint, and dismissal of faculty;
|

b.
|
faculty promotions, granting of rank and tenure;
|
|
c.
|
curriculum development, degree requirements, admission requirements and academic regulations;
|
| d. |
teaching methods and research; and
|
|
e.
|
other matters which are purely academic in nature and are contained in the Faculty Handbook and in the sections on Admissions and Academic Regulations of the University Bulletin.
