Approximately 35 students hold paid positions at The Log, The Beacon, and KDUP 1580 AM. Additionally, about 50 students are volunteer DJs at KDUP. All jobs require a full academic year commitment. All students are welcome to apply for the paid jobs and unpaid DJ positions. Student media is an educational experience; no prior media experience is required for any position. However, when students apply for student media jobs, journalism skills and coursework are preferred. Experience working on a high school newspaper, yearbook or broadcast station is also highly considered.
Nancy Copic is the full-time direct advisor to The Beacon and liaison to the advisors of The Log and KDUP. Her office is located in the Office of Student Activities. Brian Blair is the direct advisor to KDUP and Rachel Mills is the direct advisor to The Log..

Applications are available at the front desk of the Office of Student Activities. The hiring process for the various student media jobs will typically be completed by the end of March. You can also check for postings on the following websites: Student Activities, KDUP, or the Beacon.
