Sexism and Racism in Disney Films

Watch a fascinating documentary that takes a close and critical look at the world Disney films create and the stories they tell about race, gender and class and reaches disturbing conclusions about the values propagated under that guise of innocence and fun!

Listen to Dr. Joane Moceri speak about health disparities among the Hispanic population in Portland as well as Joan Caley speak with regards to homeless veterans in our area.

With help from UP's Communication Department Chair Dr. Jeff Kerssen-Griep, the Black Student Union will be looking at the various ways a person can identify as Black with particular emphasis on being biracial and bicultural. A panel of students who may or may not identify as "full Black" will share some of their experiences.

Walk and Candlelight Vigil in Honor of the women of Ciudad Juarez

Join UP MEChA in honoring the memory of the women who have died as a result of the violence in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. We will walk around campus with traditional pink crosses and candles and end at the chapel for a candlelight vigil and reading of the names of the victims.
