Student Activities: The Beacon
The Beacon, the University of Portland's weekly student newspaper, is owned and published by the University of Portland, which delegates editorial responsibility to student editors. The Beacon provides a forum within which students, staff, and faculty members engage in free and responsible public dialogue on a wide variety of public issues as well as campus-related topics.
Positions for The Beacon's editorial and business/advertising staff are open to all full-time undergraduate and graduate students. Hiring generally occurs during spring semester, although openings may also surface during fall semester.
