Almanac: Welcome

Welcome to the University of Portland Almanac. For the University of Portland's own almanac click on one of the months listed to the left.  There are other almanac sites on the internet that visitors might find useful or interesting. 

• The National Conference of Catholic Bishops' site provides the daily scriptural readings from the liturgy. 
• The Writer's Almanac presents the text which Garrison Keillor reads daily on public radio; it offers vignettes on authors and events related to the literary world. 
• Yahoo has a good collection of birthdays and events related to the date at Today in History.  
• There is also an internet version of The Old Farmer's Almanac . 
• Those interested in astronomical data can find a list of the exact times of solstices and equinoxes from data provided by the U. S. Naval Observatory.
• And the National Institute of Standards and Technology provides an official clock with the exact time.
