Chris Buzo '96
Christopher Buzo graduated from University of Portland in 1996 with a B.S. in civil engineering. He spent 11 years active duty in the U.S. Air Force before moving back to Portland in 2007. He now works for CH2MHill as a civil engineer and project manager. He is an avid home brewer and enjoys spending time outdoors and watching Pilot soccer games with his family.

Doug Edwards '67
A graduate of UP’s AFROTC program, Doug spent 24 years as an Air Force fighter pilot and instructor before beginning his “retirement” career as an airline captain and a corporate chief pilot.
Doug and his wife Gwen, also a 1967 UP graduate, have lived in many wonderful locales throughout the US and Europe, but came back to the Portland area in 1991 knowing it was “home.”
A fixture at most UP athletic events, Doug looks forward to meeting and greeting fellow alums at events throughout the country.

Steve Doerfler enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons as well as playing golf, soccer, and camping. The University of Portland is a special place to him because he met his wife at UP and made many of lifelong friends.

Pasha Horiuchi graduated from University of Portland with a degree in electrical engineering. He is currently working as a CFP and CRPC for Ameriprise Financial as a financial advisor. Pasha loves all Pilot athletics, especially soccer.

Ryan Kinsella '03
Ryan Kinsella has a master of public administration from University of Washington
and works for the City of
Portland's Election Officer. Prior to his MPA, Ryan directed University of Portland's
study abroad program and completed his master of philosophy at the
University of Notre Dame Australia, all while wandering the outback
and avoiding crocodiles. As an undergraduate, Ryan focused his studies
on Salzburg-going, Common's cookie-consuming and philosophizing.
Ryan's ideal weekends include long hikes and stout cups of coffee
coupled with the New York Times.

Ryan Lafrenz '99
Ryan Lafrenz has worked as an environmental/management consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2001 and currently resides with his wife, Jessica, in San Francisco. He enjoys adventure motorcycling, fly fishing, and virtually any other outdoor activity. Ryan comes from a long line of past and current Pilots and values the experience of giving back to the University via service on the NAB.

Maia Nolan '01
Maia Nolan is a writer, blogger and third-generation Alaskan. Born in Fairbanks and raised in Anchorage, she lived in the Northeast before returning to Anchorage in 2005. Maia teaches writing at the University of Alaska Anchorage, and she is a 2008 recipient of a Rasmuson Foundation Individual Artist Award. She has been a full time editor at Alaska Dispatch, Alaska’s online news site. As a student at UP, Maia served as the editor-in-chief of The Beacon as well as a RA in Mehling Hall.

Annette Parent-Kenney '82
Annette started at University of Portland as a 19-year-old married woman. She had major surgery during her junior year and was pregnant most of her senior year. In her words, “three professors 'saw' me. Without a word about it, they helped me thrive.” Annette is a mother, wife and solo family doctor. The University of Portland is special and close to her heart.

Al Weber ’54
Al Weber splits his time between the Colorado Springs area and the Oregon coast. He received his BA from the University of Portland. After his graduation, Al served as an officer in the United States Air Force. He returned to campus to receive his master of education a few years later.
