Carmen Gaston '96
Carmen Gaston '96 is the Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations & Planning. Carmen oversees the Office of Alumni Relations and plans selected fundraising efforts. Carmen joined the University in the fall of 2005 as a major gifts officer in the University's development office and was promoted to Director of Alumni Relations six months later. Prior to returning to her alma mater, Carmen worked in product management at John Deere and Polaris Industries. Carmen has a law degree from the Creighton School of Law. Ken Hallenius '13
Ken Hallenius is the associate director of alumni, coordinating the annual Alumni Reunion and administering the online alumni communities (LinkedIn and Facebook). Prior to joining alumni relations, Ken worked for seven years in residence life, including five years as director of Haggerty & Tyson Halls and two years as the assistant director of Kenna Hall. Before coming to UP, Ken spent two years in Oakland, California studying for the priesthood in the Order of Preachers (the Dominicans). He also worked in software quality assurance and as a volunteer youth minister. He is wrapping up his M.A. in Philosophy & Religion from Harrison Middleton University with an emphasis on Virtue Ethics, and is currently working on an M.A. in Pastoral Ministry at UP. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology and also studied history at Saint Meinrad College. Caitlin MacMillen '08
Caitlin MacMillen graduated from the University of Portland in May 2008, and received her MBA from the Pamplin School of Business in 2012. She previously worked in the North Portland community at Roosevelt High School in the Community Advancement office.
