BIO
I am an Army brat and moved around most of my life until my family settled down in Byng, Oklahoma. In 1986 I joined the US Navy as a Cryptologic Technician Operator and was stationed in Washington DC and then Rota, Spain. Upon completion of my tour in Rota, Spain, I moved to Oregon, joined the Oregon National Guard, and enrolled at Eastern Oregon University. In 1999, I received my commission and began my career in the Oregon Army National Guard. I have deployed to Bosnia and Afghanistan, as well as attended numerous training exercises in Ft. Lewis, Washington; Japan: Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas; Ft. Huachuca, Arizona; Ft. Eustis, Virginia; Gowen Field, Idaho; Ft. Polk, Louisiana; and Camp Shelby, Mississippi. I have treasured each of my experiences from training exercises to deployments. Each mission has always taught me something about myself as well as about others I have trained with or deployed with. The friendships made over the years are truly remarkable. In my spare time, I enjoy reading mystery novels; traveling, horseback riding, photography, and karaoke. I love Oregon (it is so much different than Oklahoma) and am honored to have the privilege of serving in this assignment.
