Army ROTC: Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP)
The SMP is a volunteer officer training program for academic juniors who are enlisted in the Reserves or National Guard. SMP members complete the Advanced Course and continue to train with their Reserve or Guard unit. Upon completion of their degree and ROTC program, they are commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army.
Advanced ROTC SMP students are paid for their Guard/Reserve training plus they receive the ROTC allowance of up to $3,500 for each of their two years in the Advanced Course.
