Campus Ministry: Greeters
Greeters
Greeters serve as ministers of hospitality. They are the first persons encountered by those who come to Mass. Every Sunday, some of the people who arrive at the Chapel will be visitors from out-of-town, Catholic students who have not been to Mass lately, students of other faiths, and even persons with no formal faith tradition. Everyone is welcome to the Chapel of Christ the Teacher and deserve a gracious welcome and may need to know where the restrooms are located.
This ministry is a testimony to one’s Catholic Faith and is understood as a public witness of faith. In the course of their ministry, most Greeters grow in their appreciation of the Lord’s presence in each person.
Training sessions for Greeters take place at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. A student coordinator assists with the training and ongoing formation of Greeters as well as finding substitutes in scheduling.
