Campus Ministry: Vocation Discernment

The questions, "Who am I?" and "What am I to do in life?" are two very fundamental life questions.  We believe a person is aided by God in faithfully responding to these fundamental questions.  College is both a time to discern how to best use one's God given gifts and talents in a career, but also a time to discern if God is calling a person to live the consecrated religious life, to serve as a priest, to be married, or to live a meaningful and happy life as a single person.  Vocational discernment happens both in the dynamics of group interaction and during individual spiritual direction.  Spiritual direction is a monthly 30 minute - one hour meeting with a trained Spiritual Director and an individual opening himself or herself to God's guiding presence by intentionally reflecting on his or her life, especially experiences of communal and individual prayer.
