Career Services: Mentoring Network
Mentoring Network Help Sheet
Career Mentors. A career advisor provides you with the opportunity to share your professional experiences and industry insight. Advisors can provide short or long-term career guidance for students and alumni in person, on the phone or even through email.
Informational Interviews. Informational interviews provide alumni an opportunity to share valuable career and industry information. Students and alumni will benefit from hearing first-hand knowledge. Reveal secrets to a successful job search.
Job Shadows. Students will have an opportunity to spend time at your offer and learn more about your job and the day-to-day of your industry.
Guest Speaking/Panels. Alumni have the opportunity to spend time in the classroom and answer career-related questions or speak at industry-focused panels.
Internship Sponsor. Sponsor or develop an internship to provide ongoing mentoring and job training in your industry with enthusiastic students seeking real world experience. Internships take many forms and have shown to benefit both host agency and students. Career Services can help design an internship that works for your unique workplace.
