15 years ago, Mr. Robert Franz endowed the Franz Chair, which is still held by Dr. Anderson. The Center for Entrepreneurship was established by Dr. Anderson through an additional endowment from Mr. Robert Franz.
Recently, the Center for Entrepreneurship was renamed the Franz Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, to acknowledge the lifelong commitment to eduaction at the University of Portland by Mr. Robert Franz and his sister, Mrs. Elsie Finley.
The Franz Center has twice received the Model Specialty Program award from the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE), the only Center to have been awarded the honor twice.
We are a Center for Excellence as awarded by NASDAQ in association with the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurial Centers.
