Facilities Planning & Construction: Director

Paul Luty, Director After serving four years in the US Air Force as a weapons crew chief and seventeen years in commercial construction, Paul J. Luty was hired at the University of Portland.  He has worked eighteen years as a senior administrator, sixteen of those years as director of the Physical Plant where he oversaw the maintenance of the campus, remodeling projects, and new construction.  In July of 2008 he was named director of facilities planning & construction.  He is responsible for all new construction on campus as well as the budgets for construction and capital projects.  He serves as president on the Board of Directors of Rebuilding Together Portland and is a member of the facilities committee at Central Catholic High School.  Paul's method of prioritizing facilities upgrades is still being used at Central.
