Fellowships & Grants: General Timeline

Fall and spring before application is due:

•     Start writing essays

•     Target schools/programs

•     Do your homework on the scholarship

•     Identify potential referees for letters, discuss with the director, invite them to write

Late spring and summer:

•     Meet with the director to read drafts of essays

•     Remind referees

Early fall:

•     Complete packet assembled by campus deadline

•     Prepare for interviews, if applicable

•     Send application
