The process of applying for a major award is the point; winning the award is a bonus. Applying allows you to define who you are and to clarify where you are going with your life. It is a process of self-discovery and self-definition. It is time consuming and laborious, but the rewards outweigh the effort required.
Winning a prestigious award opens doors that might otherwise have remained closed to you, allowing you opportunities to further yourself and carry out dreams of improving the world. You edify yourself, those around you, and the causes to which you are committed by winning.
