Financial Aid: Types of Jobs
On-Campus Jobs
There are many types of jobs available to students who choose to work on campus. Student employment positions are part-time jobs available to students who are registered at least half-time in a UP degree program. The university pays student workers minimum wage or above, and students can work up to 20 hours per week when classes are in session. On-campus job listings and internship opportunities are available online to all university students via the Student Job Board.
Community Service Federal Work-Study
Students awarded Federal Work-Study can earn their awards working in a Community Service Work Study position. There are a variety of positions each year, ranging from working at a local homeless shelter to working as reading or math tutors in area schools. Please visit the Moreau Center for Service and Leadership for more information.
Off-Campus Jobs
Off-campus employers needing either permanent part-time employees or temporary help may list their job openings with the Office of Career Services. Off-campus job listings and internship opportunities are available online to all university students via the College Central Network. The University does not pre-screen off-campus employers.
International Students
International students should contact the Office of International Student Services for assistance with special employment rules and hiring procedures. Further information is available online regarding employment for International Students on the UP International Student Services website.
