Development: Why Give to UP?

Perhaps your education on The Bluff propelled you into a satisfying career. Or you are an employer that needs nurses or teachers or a scientist whose education has been focused not only on preparation for a career, but also on development of character. Maybe your son or daughter was able to take advantage of scholarship assistance and you would like to return the favor.

There are as many reasons to give to UP as there are donors. But the central reason to give to the University is our mission. Since 1901 the University of Portland has devoted itself to an education of the heart and mind by focusing on three central elements: teaching, faith, and service. Like any good institution, we have changed over the years and are widely recognized for the high quality of our facilities, programs, faculty, and students. But what has not changed is the University’s commitment to great teaching, the open expression of faith, and service to community.

Your support is needed each year to ensure that the benefits of a University of Portland education, the benefits you or your employee or son or daughter have enjoyed, will continue for the present and future generations of students.
