Sister Michael Francine Duncan ’06, is a member of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon where she currently serves as Superior of the Sisters Motherhouse in Beaverton, OR. Sister Michael Francine has a background in Business and Human Resources. Her Masters in Pastoral Ministry (MAPM) from the University of Portland has helped her blend the sisters spiritual ministry with the ever changing details of daily life on the campus. “As we grow spiritually in the Lord, we are called to reverence, respect and encourage each other along the way. The MAPM program gave me a firm foundation of the church ministry to intermingle with the practical tasks of daily life.” In my position as an administrator on the campus, I interact with individuals where spirituality often becomes part of the conversation. My MAPM theory and counseling has greatly assisted me in my work as a Sister and as an administrator. As I endeavor to provide informed, intelligent, unbiased insights to those seeking help, I am grateful for the solid theological foundations, information and skills which I acquired through the program.
