Is a parking permit required to park on campus? Parking permits are required Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm and can be obtained at the Department of Public Safety. Additional information on parking regulations on campus can be found by clicking on the Parking Information link on the Public Safety's Transit & Travel page.

Where would I get additional information on Library services? Information on library hours, collections, copyright guidelines, staff directories and more helpful information can be found by clicking here.

How do I access library services from off campus? For information on how to access library services from off campus please click here.

Where is the print shop located on campus? The print shop is located in the basement of Buckley Center in room 22.

Where are the open computer labs located on campus? Please click on the links below for additional information on the computer labs at each of these four locations on campus.

Where can I find information about recreational services on campus? The Recreational Services department is located on campus in Howard Hall. For information on their hours of operation click here. For information on the Howard Hall facilities click here.

Where are the Learning Resource Center and Writing Center located? The Learning Resource Center and the Writing Center are both located in Franz Hall room 120.

Where is the Career Services Office located? The Career Services Office is located in the lower level of Orrico Hall. Career Services is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and evenings by appointment.

Where is the Health Center located? The University Health Center is located on the upper level of Orrico Hall. Hours of operation for the Health Center are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Do I need to complete a health history form as a new student? Yes. It in necessary for all new students to complete a Health History Form and return it to the University Health Center. The form can be found by clicking here and selecting 'Health History Form'.

Where can a find the University calendar? The University Calendar can be found by clicking here.

You can filter for academics, athletics, students, etc. by using the 'Filter Events' links in the right hand column.

Do I need to have a student ID card? Where do I get a student ID card? All University of Portland students are required to have a UP student ID card. Student ID cards are created/distributed by the Public Safety Office.

In order to obtain your student ID card you will need to visit the Public Safety Office with a copy of your course schedule, verifying that you are a student.

Please note that your student ID card will be necessary when accessing many of the resources available through the library.

How do I register for my first classes as a UP student? Before registering for courses for your first semester you will need to contact your program director/advisor in order to determine which courses you will need to sign up for during your first semester as a graduate student. When meeting with your program director/advisor you will need to have a course registration form, which can be obtained from the Registrar's office, for them to sign-off on.

How is full-time/part-time student status determined? Full-time students are those that are registered for 9 credit hours or more of coursework

3/4 time students are those that are registered for 7-8 credit hours of coursework.

1/2 time students are those that are registered for 5-6 credit hours of coursework.

Less than 1/2 time students are those that are registered for 4 credit hours or less of coursework.

What are the steps for applying for financial aid? There are seven main steps in applying for financial aid at the University of Portland. Please click here to view these seven steps.

How do I determine the cost of attendance for my graduate program? To determine the cost of attendance for your graduate program click here and select the 'Graduate Out of Pocket Expense Worksheet' link on the Cost of Attendance page.

What are the tuition payment deadlines and how can I pay my tuition? For information on tuition payment deadlines please click here.

Tuition payments can be made in the form of cash, personal check, money order, traveler's check, and waire transfer. Please contact the Office of Student Accounts at 503.943.7336 for wire transfer information. All payments must include the student's ID number in order to expedite the process accurately and timely. Please do not mail cash.

What are PilotsUP and Moodle? PilotsUP (pilots.up.edu) is an online student portal that is accessed using your UP username and password. It is an information center for students where many resources and announcements are posted by various departments on campus. As a student you will gain access to Moodle through PilotsUP.

Many faculty members use Moodle for posting course syllabi, lecture notes/powerpoint slides, class assignments and many other things. Once you're logged in to Moodle you can click on Support in the top right corner in order to gain information on getting started with Moodle and helpful 'How To' tips.

Where are food services located on campus? The Cove is located in the Pilot House.

The Commons, which is the main dining facility, is located in the academic quad next to the Chapel of Christ the Teacher.

There is also a coffer cart located in the basement of Franz Hall.
