Graduate School: Education Graduate
Mike Chambers
I have worked at St. Andrew Nativity School in Northeast Portland for six years. This year is my first serving as vice principal. As a member of the PACE program, I earned my Masters degree at the University of Portland and recently completed my administrative licensure program at UP as well. Graduate study at the University of Portland helped me define and meet my professional goals because the classes at University of Portland are excellent at imbuing one with a deep theoretical knowledge, but every professor I had at UP also strove to fuse this theory with real-world practice. The professors I worked with were exceptional—all were highly experienced and extremely supportive. The University of Portland’s graduate and post-graduate programs did an outstanding job preparing me to serve as an educator in a diverse society and building on the broad and superb liberal arts education I received at Gonzaga University.
