Health Center: Costs & Insurance
Costs & Insurance
Costs
Services provided through the Health Center are offered either for free or at minimal cost, regardless of insurance status. Visits with all Health Center providers are free. Medications, injections, medical supplies and diagnostic or laboratory studies are supplied for a nominal fee.
Insurance
Health Center services and resources are available to all students, regardless of insurance status. However, a solid insurance plan is a critical part of the University’s commitment to provide quality health care to our students.
All full-time undergraduate students are encouraged to participate in the University's group health insurance plan. If you expect to be covered through a health insurance plan outside the University, e.g., through a parent's policy, you must request exemption from the University group health insurance plan by completing and submitting a waiver request each fall through the Aetna Student Health. Unless you complete this waiver, you will be automatically billed for the University's group insurance premium at registration each semester during the regular academic year. Summer insurance coverage is available if you wish to take advantage of this plan on a year-round basis. For those students enrolled beginning in the spring or summer semester, a seperate application process is required.
Part-time and graduate students are not required to participate in the University group insurance plan. Please review the 2011-2012 Aetna Student Health Insurance Brochure for a brief overview of coverage. Additional information, brochures and claim forms are available from the Aetna Student Health or by calling 1-877-373-2756.
