Residence Life: Emergency Information
Reporting a Crime or Emergency
To report a crime or an emergency on campus, call the Department of Public Safety. For anonymous reporting, go to the public safety website. Public safety officers respond to all reports of criminal activity or emergencies, and complete an incident report for any crime occurring on or adjacent to University property. Reports are confidential within the guidelines established by the General Education Provisions Act, the Portland Police Bureau, and Oregon Revised Statutes.

Fire
In case of a fire, please sound the nearest fire alarm and evacuate the building. Do not remain in courtyards or in close proximity to the buildings. Remain in designated locations until cleared for re-entry by either the hall director, or a member of the residence life staff acting in behalf of the HD or by public safety. If you can use a fire extinguisher in your hall without endangering yourself, please do so. However, our first concern is your safety. Do not attempt to extinguish a fire if your personal safety becomes threatened.
Earthquake
The best way to protect yourself during an earthquake is to prepare yourself for one before it occurs. By taking some time to think about earthquakes now, you will greatly increase the chances that you will be able to respond after one occurs. It is recommended that residents familiarize themselves with earthquake safety procedures that can be found in Life on the Bluff.
