||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Fields Hall is named after Fred and the late Suzanne (Sue) Fields. Schoenfeldt Hall is named after the late Rev. Arthur ("Padre") Schoenfeldt, C.S.C., a longtime University priest who passed away in December of 2007. Mrs. Fields and Rev. Schoenfeldt were sister and brother. Although one building, these two residence halls have very unique and distinct identities. Fields Hall is designated as female wings and Schoenfeldt Hall as male wings. The new residence halls opened in August 2009 and are the first LEED gold certified residence halls on campus.
Shared amenities of Fields Hall and Schoenfeldt Hall include one front desk, 24 hour common space lounges, wing-specific study rooms, a workout room, kitchenette & dining area, chapel, and outdoor plaza. Wireless Internet is available throughout the building. Student storage and bicycle parking is also available to residents of both halls in shared spaces. Both halls have individual staffs, hall councils, and weekly Masses. Views from the new residence halls include the Willamette River, the St. John's Bridge, and Mount Hood. Outdoors there are sand volleyball and basketball courts for student use.
Beds must be bunked or lofted and options are limited; wardrobes are movable in traditional double rooms, double suites have built in closets; desks are movable.
