How to Schedule a Conference
For writing assistance in any field, email our hotline email@example.com informing us of the course you are in and your range of availability in the coming days. A Writing Assistant will try to respond within 24 hours indicating when she can meet.
While any of our four Assistants can help you, if your paper is in Nursing, Business, English, or History, you might email directly one of the following assistants, rather than the hotline:

Prior to your appointment, do fill out a Session Goals form, available here:
Walk-ins are welcome during normal business hours if a Writing Assistant is available.
If you have a simple question about grammar that does not require a conference, e-mail it to the Editing Hotline. Write "Editing Hotline" in the subject line and send to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please allow 24 hours during the school week for a response.
What to Expect in an Appointment
- Bring your assignment sheet and draft. If you have not started yet or do not understand the assignment, the WA can work on brainstorming strategies with you. Remember, you can come to the Writing Center at any point in the writing process.
- Be aware of your own concerns or questions about the draft before the appointment. You will work with the WA to establish the goals of the session.
- You and the WA will read through the draft and focus on areas needing improvement. The WA can help with anything from editing techniques and organization strategies to explaining grammar rules.
- The WA will fill out a conference report indicating the session goals and suggestions for improvement. Your professor will receive a copy of this report.
