I do not even understand the assignment. What should I do?Students are encouraged to come at any stage of the speech process. Speech assistants can help with everything from brainstorming about the assignment with you, to providing better organizational or delivery strategies on a polished speech.
Even experienced speakers can benefit from helpful input from trained speaking assistants. Often, the more you practice your speech, the more comfortable you will become in the actual process.
First, try e-mailing the speech assistant. Special conference times may be arranged. If a conference time cannot be arranged, you may be able to work with a different speech assistant.
