Parent & Student Information


Student Package and Mail Pickup Information

Pick up ALL packages and mail directly from Printing & Mailing Services in Tyson Hall.

Hours: 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

  • Follow signage and enter through the Office of Residence Life door located on N. Warren St. between N. Monteith Ave. and N. Van Houten Ave.
  • For any package related questions, please contact Mailing Services at: packages@up.edu


Please note: If you are a student and received notification from a sender and/or carrier, i.e., USPS, or local post office 97203, UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc. regarding your item “being delivered”, this does not mean your package has gone through our internal processing.

Our internal processes can take up to two days, depending on the time of delivery and package volume. You will receive an email notification from Vuetura/mailing services indicating your package has been processed.

Mail is picked up at USPS at 8:30 a.m. All express mail deliveries are received at the afternoon pickup time of 3 p.m.

Off Campus Students

Students living off-campus are not permitted to have packages and mail sent to 5000 N. Willamette Blvd. All packages and mail must be addressed to your off-campus address. Items received in Mailing Services will be returned to the sender.

Incoming Mail

For mailing services to provide the best service possible, mail must be properly addressed. 

Below is an example of how mail should be addressed to ensure it is not delayed:

Student Name
Residence Hall Name, Room Number
5000 N. Willamette Blvd.
Portland, OR 97203

Outgoing Mail

You may drop off outgoing mail at Mailing Services. Please utilize the mail drop slots in the vestibule. Mail may also be dropped in the mail drop slots located in Buckley Center, across from the elevator, which is picked up twice daily. 

Campus Mail

University-related campus mail from University offices, professors, or students is delivered throughout the day. This mail does not require postage. 

Mail Forwarding

Students living in dorms: Mail will be forwarded two-three weeks after the last day of classes to your address on file with the University of Portland. 

Summer months: If you are returning in the fall, we will stop forwarding mail three weeks before the start of school. 

Unclaimed Packages

All Unclaimed packages will be returned to sender.

Change of Address

DO NOT file a change of address form either online or in paper format with the USPS. The University of Portland’s address — 5000 N. Willamette — is a “business address”, and individuals (students) cannot file a change of address for a business.

Updating Your Address

In order to receive mail directly from a vendor, i.e., Citibank, Verizon, etc., you must contact each business directly and give them your new address. Each vendor will then change your address within their database system.
