(Note that for Canada only, there are two spaces between the province (ON) and the postal code (K1A OB1)).
Customs declarations are required for all international parcels including Guam, APO/FPO,
New Requirements for International Mail. The U. S. Postal Service has announced that all international (including APO and FPO) mail over 13 ounces and packages require an electronically printed online Customs Declaration Form, Form 2976 or 2976-A. The form cannot be accepted if it is handwritten. The forms can be found online for completion at http://webapps.usps.com/customsforms. See below for steps to complete the customs form. To determine which form to use see http://ircalc.usps.com/customsformscalculator.aspx. Also, the package must be presented with the signed, dated and printed forms with the appropriate UP Chargeback information supplied to mailing services for metered postage to be applied. STEPS FOR COMPLETING CUSTOMS FORMS AND MAILING YOUR INTERNATIONAL PACKAGE
- Make sure no prohibited or restricted items are being mailed. If unsure, check the USPS webite: http://pe.usps.com/text/imm/immctry.htm.
- Determine the correct form to use as indicated above.
- Click on the "USPS Custom Form" icon.
- Choose your form (International of APO,FPO).
- Click on "Complete Form Online."
- Fill our the "Sender" and "Addressee" fields. Fields marked with * but be completed.
- Click "Continue."
- On the "Package Information" screen, estimate the weight of each item being mailed.
- Input weight estimations and click "Continue."
- Complete the "Add Item" screen and click "Continue."
- Generate Form 2976.
- Click on Form 2976 {PDF}.
- Click the Print icon and click OK.
- After your forms print, sign and date each copy and submit with your mail/package.
- Prepare and address your package and submit it with the appropriate departmental chargeback information and customs forms to mailing services where metered postage will be applied.
