Presidential Advisory Committees
Five standing Presidential Advisory Committees (PAC) provide advice and recommendations to the president on matters relating to athletics, health and safety, information technology, student media and sustainability.
The president of the University appoints committee members annually at the beginning of fall semester. Committee members serve for a year and represent a broad range of constituents including faculty, staff, and students. Please see Appointments for current and previous year committee members. Please explore the links to the left for more information regarding each of the PACs.
Committee on Athletics
The athletics committee advises the president on matters relating to athletics at the University. This includes monitoring of programs and facilities on campus as well as compliance with federal, state, and NCAA regulations. The committee works closely with the Office of Athletics.
Committee on Health and Safety
The health and safety committee advises the president on matters relating to health and safety at the University. This includes monitoring compliance with federal and state regulations as well as making recommendations for improvements in facilities and services. The committee works closely with the Division of Student Affairs (Office of Public Safety) and the Division of Financial Affairs (Office of Physical Plant).
Committee on Information Technology
The information technology committee advises the president on matters relating to technology at the University. This includes monitoring progress of technology goals and making recommendations for improvements in services, infrastructure, and other resources. The committee works closely with the Division of Information Services Office of Academic Technology, Office of Technical Support and Office of Web and Administrative Systems).
Committee on Student Media
The student media committee advises the president on matters relating to the Beacon (student newspaper), The Log (student yearbook), and KDUP (student radio station).
Committee on Sustainability
The sustainability committee advises the president on matters relating to the long run impact of the University and its members on the environment, the community, and the economy.
