Physical Plant: What We Do
"Preserving the Past, Maintaining the Present, Ensuring the Future"
The Physical Plant is responsible for the caretaking of the University grounds and facilities, including off-campus University-owned houses. In addition, we provide events set-up/take-down, perform in-house projects, and augment Office of Facilities Planning and Construction projects when Physical Plant assistance is requested.
The main campus consists of 35 buildings on 130 acres, around which are 38 rental houses owned by the University. The River Campus is made up of 35 acres along the Willamette River below The Bluff, and is awaiting development.
The Physical Plant is made up of a team of 84 professional and devoted individuals who perform campus-care functions almost exclusively in-house. We handle mechanical, landscaping, carpentry,
painting, custodial, lock repair, vehicle repair, and support functions.
