Bahram Adrangi

Bahram Adrangi
Professor of Business

He has won all the teaching awards the University offers. He has published scholarly articles in journals all over the world. He has taught at the University for 22 years and seems younger now than he did when he started. He has piled up thousands of miles on his daily runs around and through the campus. He has taught every aspect of economics you can imagine. “And every imaginable issue is germane to our classes," he says musingly. “Really in economics we are talking about power and environmental degradation, poverty and justice. Really we are talking about the creation of economies that are viable in every sense. Really we are talking about matters far beyond the taking and passing of classes. We are talking about how information can improve lives all over the world.

“Teaching never gets old or boring to me for two crucial reasons: first, I believe with all my heart that education is the most critical component of a healthy society, and second, no class or course is ever the same as another. There are always new minds and ideas and current issues at play. It's constantly evolving. As is, of course, the professor. Which is a good thing for everybody.”
