Returning to The Bluff recently were the Buddhist Monks of Gaden Shartse Monastery in India, who spent two days meticulously building a sand mandala in Franz Hall, visiting classes, chatting about how Buddhism and Catholicism are both devoted to attentiveness to holiness, and finally gently dissolving the mandala and giving the sand grains away to children. It was remarkable. It was a prayer.
