Free, live video stream available for undergraduate commencement exercises on Sunday, May 6
Family and friends of graduates, alumni, benefactors, and the community are all welcome to watch the graduation ceremony, set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 6. The ceremony will take place in the Earle A. and Virginia H. Chiles Center on campus. Legendary Hall of Fame football coach and ESPN analyst Lou Holtz will address the graduates.

University president Rev. E. William Beauchamp, C.S.C., will confer an anticipated 760 bachelor’s degrees on Sunday. Also participating will be 43 students expected to be awarded bachelor’s degrees at the end of the summer, for a record total of 803 undergraduate students. This tops the University’s previous all-time high of 776 undergraduates who participated in the 2011 commencement.
The University will hold a separate commencement ceremony for graduate students on Saturday, May 5 at 1 p.m. in the Chiles Center. Beauchamp will confer 165 master’s degrees. Also participating will be 42 students expected to be awarded master’s degrees at the end of the summer, for a total of 207 graduate students. A video stream will not be available for Saturday’s graduate commencement ceremony.
Holtz will receive a doctorate honoring his storied career, which includes coaching both collegiate and professional football. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame, he is the only coach to ever lead six different programs to bowl games. His 1988 Notre Dame team won the NCAA national championship, and he also coached the New York Jets during the 1976 season.
