UP named top-ten workplace in Portland
The results are based on employee surveys that were completed by 111 companies throughout the region and were a part of The Oregonian’s first annual “Top Workplaces” study. The confidential surveys were conducted online by WorkplaceDynamics.
“It is wonderful to be recognized as one of the area’s top workplaces,” said University president Rev. E. William Beauchamp, C.S.C. “I am very proud of the efforts put forth every day by our faculty and staff, and it is gratifying to know our employees provided such positive overall feedback. We continuously strive to make UP a top workplace for our employees who do such a wonderful job of providing a positive educational experience for our students.”
This honor is the latest in a series of awards that recognize the University as a quality workplace.
Earlier this summer, the University was named a “gold-level” Fit-Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association, which recognizes employers who “go above and beyond when it comes to their employees’ health.” UP was also chosen as one of the “2012 Healthiest Employers of Oregon” by the Portland Business Journal, which highlights employers who demonstrate innovation and leadership through workplace wellness programs.
