University of Portland Advent concert to be held 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 in St. Mary’s Cathedral
The concert is free, but tickets are required for admission. You must reserve your tickets in advance of the concert. Please call the Performing & Fine Arts department at 503-943-7228 for tickets.
Under the direction of music professor Michael Connolly, the concert is in a "lessons and carols" format, with readings, hymns, and choral music interspersed.
The University Singers comprise student musicians selected by audition from across the University regardless of major. The Singers' 1997 recording, Christmas at the University of Portland, has now sold more than 3,000 copies and is seasonally heard each year in nationwide broadcasts in the U.S. and Ireland - and on Portland’s classical music station.
