Registrar: Information for New Faculty Members
Room Requests
Check with your department chair/dean on the process of requesting rooms and/or room types. They may have you enter your own preferences or submit them to the office manager. This will be done through EMS Campus. Your room requests should consider the size of the class. Additional meeting time requests should be submitted through Virtual EMS and they will be responded to by the Registrar's Office. Room requests for meetings or events other than classes are also submitted via Virtual EMS, but University Events will process those reservations. Any questions regarding EMS Campus should be forwarded to the Registrar and Virtual EMS questions should be sent to Events.
Class Rosters
You can access your Class Roster through the portal using Self Serve. The information in Self Serve is dynamic and indicates immediately if a student has dropped or added a class. We will post an announcement three times during the semester and we ask that you notify our office of any discrepancies in your rosters.
- Friday after drop/add ends
- Friday before midterm
- Friday after the withdrawal period ends
Grades
Grades are submitted online through the portal using Self Serve. The instructions for online grading are available on our website. If you need any assistance you can come into our office or we will come to yours and give you training.
It is very important that grades for degree candidates are submitted on time. We receive the grades by 11:00 am Friday after finals in order to clear everyone by the end of the day. In the spring, we have students that are commissioned, the nursing pinning ceremony, the graduate level ceremony on Saturday, and the undergraduate level ceremony on Sunday. The students receive their diplomas immediately following the spring commencement ceremonies, so it is imperative that grades are in by Friday.
Final grades are available online to the students on Monday evening after the grade deadline.
