University of Portland Legal Protocols
Academic Programs and Regulations — The University Bulletin contains information regarding the University of Portland’s degree programs, academic regulations, faculty, and facilities. Printed copies areavailable upon request from the Office of Admissions.
Consumer Protection Information — The Oregon Department of Justice's Financial Fraud/Consumer Protection Section (http://www.doj.state.or.us/finfraud/) protects consumers in the marketplace, primarily by enforcing Oregon's Unlawful Trade Practices Act. Consumers are helped through the Section's efforts to informally resolve matters between consumers and businesses. Its main purpose is to identify and eliminate the most serious threats to Oregon consumers. Copyright Policy — Information about the University of Portland’s policies and sanctions related to copyright infringement, including civil and criminal penalties for distributing copyrighted material (including unauthorized peer-to-peer file sharing and the prohibited use of the institution’s information technology system for those activities) is available from the Office of Information Services. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) — Information about FERPA compliance and students' rights under the law is available from the Office of the Registrar. Financial Aid — Information about tuition and fees, types of financial assistance, applying for funds, and the rights and responsibilities of financial aid recipients can be found at the Office of Financial Aid.
FSA Student Loan Ombudsman Group
— Provides assistance and information for disputes regarding federal student loans.
Student Characteristics and Outcomes — Enrollment figures, student demographic reports, and graduation and retention rates for the general student body and student-athletes is available upon request from the Office of Institutional Research, as well as information about graduate and professional education pursued by alumni. The Office of Career Services can provide information about the placement and types of employment obtained by graduates.
Vaccine Requirements — The University Health Center can provide information about vaccinations required for all University of Portland students. The School of Nursing can provide information about additional vaccinations required for all nursing students.
