In the Learning Commons (LC) you can connect with our peer mentors in a variety of disciplines to deepen your learning through practice, questions, and review.
Peer learning assistance is available to all UP students who want to reach greater levels of success in a variety of subjects. The Learning Commons houses the following programs:
Peer Assistance during the 2016 Summer Sessions
Peer support during the summer is available for several subjects, usually by appointment only.
Writing Center (appointment only):
Make an appointment at sending an email request to email@example.com. While any of our four assistants can help you, if your paper is in English, Business, or Nursing you might email one of the following assistants directly, rather than the hotline:

Math Resource Center (appointment only):
Math Assistants are available in the Learning Commons by appointment only. Please email your requested times to meet to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Nursing (appointment only):
Support is available for NRS 315 Pharmacology and NRS 322 Adult and Elder Health by appointment. Email requests of individual and group sessions to email@example.com and include your availability, level, and reason for meeting.
French Language Assistance (appointment only):
Please send requests to firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a time to meet throughout the semester. Include your availability, level, and reason for meeting.
Speech and Presentation Lab (appointment only):

Peer Assistance available during the academic year:

The Learning Commons is located in Buckley Center 163 and is open Sunday from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We can be reached at 503-943-8002.
The mission of the Learning Commons is to supplement student learning and strengthen students' ability to demonstrate and synthesize their learning and intellectual growth.
The Shepard Academic Resource Center (SARC) oversees the resources of the Learning Commons, Accessible Education Services, Learning Assistance Counseling, First Year Student Programs and Programs for Special Populations, such as undeclared and first generation students. The objective of the SARC is to provide access, outreach and resources to students to achieve learning excellence and academic success.
