UP hosting 5th annual Diversity Dialogues Week Feb. 25-Mar. 1

University of Portland is hosting its fifth annual Diversity Dialogues Week from Feb. 25 – March 1. Diversity Dialogues week, organized by the Office of Student Activities, celebrates cultural differences among students, provides multicultural programs that enrich the educational experience for all students, and encourages discussion about issues facing our students and the local and global communities.

Several events are scheduled throughout the week including lectures, film screenings, concerts, and roundtable discussions. All events are free and open to all members of the University community. See below for a full schedule of the week.

“It’s really exciting to see all these wonderful events being planned almost entirely by student clubs and organizations,” said Bethany Sills, associate director of student activities and multicultural programs coordinater. “We’re so thankful to have this opportunity to recognize the many forms of diversity and educate students about this topic.”

Campus groups involved with participating in Diversity Dialogues Week include: Black Student Union; Campus Connector Program; Campus Program Board; Espresso UP; Feminist Discussion Group; French Club; Gay Straight Partnership; International Club; M.E.Ch.A (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan); Multicultural Programs; Philosophy Club; Student Association of Social Workers; and Student Nurses Association.
