University of Portland Jazz Band and Combos to perform concert on Sunday, Nov. 24

University of Portland’s Jazz Band and Combos will perform in concert on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 3 p.m., in Buckley Center Auditorium on the University campus at 5000 N. Willamette Blvd. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Jazz Band will play music from the libraries of Duke Ellington, Gene Krupa, Patty Darling and noted Hollywood composer Patrick Williams. Two jazz ensembles will bring a program of jazz standards and original tunes.

Featured with each group will be guitarist Dan Balmer. Balmer will perform some of his own music and will play an arrangement with the Jazz Band of "Every Summer Night," a Pat Metheny composition.
