University of Portland to host Spirituality of Administration Workshop Friday, April 11

University of Portland will host a Spirituality of Administration Workshop on Friday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Executive Boardroom in the Bauccio Commons on campus, 5000 N. Willamette Blvd. The workshop, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the University’s Garaventa Center for Catholic Intellectual Life and American Culture. Lunch may be purchased in advance by calling (503) 943-7702.

The workshop will be presented by Ann Garrido, author of Redeeming Administration, and associate professor of Homiletics at the Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis. She is also the director of the Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd at the Institute and has served as senior editor of Human Development Magazine. A three year grant project led to her current work on meditation and conflict education with Triad Consulting Group, an arm of the Harvard Negotiation Project.

The presentation explores the spirituality of administration and the pursuit of a life of virtue in leadership roles, while maintaining a healthy sense of balance in life outside of work.
