Student Accounts: Health Insurance

The University believes that a solid health plan is vital to the well being of our students.  As such, we provide a group health insurance plan to all full time students at the University. Participation in a health insurance program is required of all full-time undergraduate students per Oregon law.  Students who are already covered by a health insurance program may complete an on-line Health Insurance Waiver at Aetna Student Health's website.  The waiver form for 2009-2010 is available now.  Please have your health insurance ID card available.  The waiver can be found by following these steps:

• Find the University of Portland on the drop down box at the top right of Aetna's and click "Go"
• Select "Plans and Products offered to you" from the left hand menu
• Select "Enroll/Waive"
• Select "Enroll or Waive: Student Health Insurance Plan" from the center of the page.
• Select "Continue"
• Start the Waiver process by entering the student's UP ID# and date of birth.
• Please print the waiver confirmation for your records.

Unless you complete this waiver form, you will be automatically billed for the University group insurance premium at registration.  All health waivers will need to be submitted on-line.

Summer coverage is available if you wish to take advantage of this plan on a year-round basis

Part-time students are not required to participate in the University group insurance plan.
