Studies Abroad: Salzburg Summer II

Students take two classes for 6 total credits:
BIO 307 Human Anatomy- Dr. Jacqueline Van Hoomissen(Director)
- Prerequisite: BIO 205.
HST 358 Disease and Medicine in World History- Dr. Brian Els
- Will count as upper division history course.
PHL 220 Ethics- Dr. Casey Evangelist
- Prerequisite: PHL 150.
This program will allow students to have a first-hand look at the culture and language of Austria. This experience includes excursions to various parts of Austria and Germany, possibly including Munich, the Austrian Lake district, the salt mines at the Celtic village of Hallstatt, and the church and convent of Chiemsee.
The cost of this program is $5,225,, and includes six credit hours, housing, museum admissions, excursions in Salzburg, and insurance. The cost does not include food or airfare.
Students must arrive in Salzburg by 6 pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Students must depart by 10am on Friday, August 7, 2015.
Students will stay in the University of Portland Center in Salzburg, only a fifteen-minute walk from the city center and ten minutes from the central railway station. The center has double rooms with private baths, as well as kitchen and laundry facilities. Classrooms, library, and computer facilities are also available at the center.
