Technical Support: Media Services Assistant Manager
Job Overview:
Assist the Media staff in managing the Support Center. Help organize the morning deliveries, direct other student workers when the full-time staff is unavailable. Must have a good working knowledge of Media Services Polices and equipment. Help in troubleshooting issues in the classrooms, and maintain the Media equipment. Must be able to work any combination of two morning (7:45-10:30 AM) or evening shifts (5:00-9 PM) a week. Other duties as assigned.
Pay Rate: Current starting wage is $9.00.
Accountable To: Media Service Manager and Media Services Specialist.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Close or open the Support Center at least 2 nights a week.
2. Assist in the management of the Support Center and Support Center employees.
3. Manage the Support Center in an appropriate and efficient manner.
4. Develop and implement projects assigned by the Manager as well as perform other duties assigned by the Manager.
5. Assure the Support Center runs properly by helping employees and customers with equipment needs, ensuring the Support Center is well stocked, and assuring the Support Center is clean and orderly.
6. Provide training for new employees and customers in an understandable and informative format.
7. Attend and help conduct regularly scheduled meetings.
8. Know and follow the guidelines and policies contained in the I.S. Employee Manual.
9. Possess an intermediate working knowledge of the equipment set-up and operation as well as the NEC Scantron System.
10. Serve the needs of the customers by employing good customer service and communication techniques.
11. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in the Support Center.
12. Stay informed about I.S. changes, new information and problems in the Support Center.
13. Maintain the maintenance schedule for the interactive and seminar rooms.
14. Maintain the maintenance schedule for the overhead projectors.
15. Insure that the Media Services Center front desk and student work area is clean at the end of each night.
16. Make sure the next morning’s deliveries are set up and ready for the next morning.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.
