Web & Administrative Systems: Communities

Communities are personal or group web spaces available to you through PilotsUP at pilots.up.edu. PilotsUP community spaces are unlike regular websites in that you can share portlet function with other members in a community.  Community pages are easy to create because you can arrange page content in a drag and drop method.  Managing a community web space in PilotsUP makes it easier to organize portal information the way you would like, share content privately with your community members or publish community information publicly to the wider university and the world.

You might want to create a community if you:

• Want to get the most out of PilotsUP
• Like to do many different online tasks in one place
• Desire to use the portal for learning, collaboration, and business
• Lead or manage committees or groups
• Want to create a personal homepage or blog
• Want to share documents, images, or other files around a particular topic with people in one central location
