Web & Administrative Systems: Folder Permissions
Specifications
- For each domain, IS will grant access, write, or execute rights only to folder owners.

Faculty.up.edu
- Only the folder owner has non-http access to his/her individual folder.
- Faculty cannot create folders at the root level.
- Faculty can create subfolders within their own folder and manage permissions to those.
- Folders on this domain are named using the faculty member’s network username.
- Teaching.up.edu
- General users may need non-http access to these folders. Users will be given permission within each folder but not at the root level. Permission levels will be set based on communication with the folder owner and folder purpose.
- Folder owners cannot create folders at the root level.
- Folder owners can create subfolders and manage permissions to those.
- All folders are named after course number only. If there is no course number associated with a web teaching effort, name the folder based on teaching purpose.
- Orgs.up.edu
- General users do not need non-http access to these folders.
- There should only be one to two individuals identified as folders owners.
- Folder owners will be identified by the club at time of folder creation/application.
- Clubs and organizations are responsible for notifying the Help Desk about changes to folder ownership.
- Only individuals with network accounts may be folder owners.
- Folder owners cannot create folders at the root level.
- Folder owners can create subfolders and manage permissions to those.
- Folders are named after the club name.
