My Announcements is a portlet launched in January 2007 to offer the University community another means to communicate with each other. My Announcements is a targeted announcements portlet which means that depending on the way you interact on campus, where you live, what class you are in, your major, and the groups and organizations you belong to, you will see a unique set of announcements. You only see those announcements that relate to what you do on campus.
Announcements post to 'required groups', optional groups, and interests. To learn more about required groups, click
here. Optional groups are University organizations and groups that people can join based on interests. As more optional groups add their information to Banner, University students, faculty, and staff will be increasingly able to subscribe to them to receive posted announcements. Community members can identify interests not based on group membership and receive announcements related to categories such as film, outdoor recreation, or community service.
