Elliot MylottInstructor of Physics

Elliot Mylott received both his master’s degree and Ph.D. from Portland State University. As part of his research in physics education, he has developed laboratory exercises and curricula that have been published in multiple journals including the American Journal of Physics and The Physics Teacher. His work focuses on how to improve physics instruction, particularly for students in the health sciences. For two years, Elliot served as the president of PSU’s Science Outreach Society (SOS), which organizes science demonstrations at local schools and public events like OMSI’s Science Pub, and the national meeting of the American Association of Physics Teachers. Elliot is a former AmeriCorps member, an avid chess player, and is currently building his skills at vegetarian cooking.
