Philip VueDigital Services Librarian

If you have seen any of the Clark Library’s digital collections, you have seen some of Philip Vue’s work and passion. In the last three years as metadata technical assistant at the Clark Library, Philip has worked diligently to build the library’s digital collections program. In July, he began his role as digital services librarian, where he will oversee the library’s digital services programs. Prior to this role at University of Portland, he served as the digital services librarian and building manager at the Oregon State University Libraries & Press. Philip received his master of library and information science from the University of Washington, and a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design from Oregon State University. His research interests includes library metadata standards, digital preservation, linked open data, and intellectual property and copyright. Among other things, he continues to learn about his native Hmong culture, enjoys fishing the rivers of the Pacific Northwest, and is a photographer at heart.
