James King recently returned from Uganda, where he was a theology instructor at an undergraduate seminary and administrator at the Congregation of Holy Cross district headquarters in Kampala. Prior to that, he spent eighteen years in a variety of capacities at the University of Notre Dame: religious superior, director of Campus Ministry, instructor in business ethics and theology, residence life staff, vocation director, and as a member of the University’s Board of Trustees. Fr. King previously served from 1992 to 1997 at the University of Portland as a history instructor, hall director, assistant director in the Office of Alumni Relations, and director of the study abroad program in Salzburg, Austria. He is the author of Known by Name: Inside the Halls of Notre Dame and Holy Cross and Christian Education.
